Obituary for Drew Ross

Our sweet loving boy, Drew William “Rewster” Ross, 22, departed this world on June 18, 2013 from significant injuries sustained on May 12, 2013 in a motorcycle accident. He was born April 20, 1991 at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho to Douglas and Kimberlee Ross.

A viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm, Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Summers Funeral Home, Boise Chapel, 1205 W Bannock St, Boise. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, June 24, 2013 at Barber Park Event Center, 4049 S Eckert Rd, Boise, with a Celebration of his Life immediately following.

Drew attended Riverside Elementary School, Les Bois Jr. High School, Boise High School, University of Idaho, and the College of Western Idaho. He was a fast runner and pole vaulted throughout high school. Drew worked for Whitetail Golf Course in McCall, ID and Western Power Sports in Boise, ID, who has given the family so much appreciated support. He loved mountain biking, snowboading, wakeboarding, jet skiing, motorsports, hiking, camping, golfing, and playing horse polo. Drew always enjoyed trying new things and lived life on full throttle with no regrets. Drew was a true “Brave to the Grave”.

Drew was a Student Ambassador for People to People three times. He traveled to Australia, New Zealand, China, Germany, France, England and Holland. He also had visited Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Washington DC, and the entire Pacific Northwest. He enjoyed attending various camps.

Drew is survived by his parents, Doug and Kim Ross; sisters, Hailee and Brooke Ross; and his dog, Binka all of Boise, ID; girlfriend, Gabrielle Garcia of Caldwell, ID; grandmother, Colleen Ross of Boise, ID; grandparents, Steve and Deb Collins of Sumner, WA; uncle, John Ross of Boise, ID; aunt, Bobbi Ross of Meridian, ID; aunt, Sheri Kinzer of Meridian, ID; cousins, Carley, Kortney, and Kursta Ross and her son, Brady of Boise, ID; aunt, Susie Decker of Boise, ID; and cousins, Shannon Decker of Truckee, CA; Steve Decker of Portland, OR; Jamie (Justin) High of Willow, AK; Joleen Kinzer of Norwich, VT; Jon (Holly) Kinzer of Meridian, ID; Aunt Cindy and Aunt Linda; cousins, Erica (Jay) Finks and children, D'Arcy and Lawson, all of Boise; uncle, Brian Walker of Kuna, ID; and best friend, Connor Wernz of Boise, ID; as well as many other dear friends from home and those he met all over the world. He was a friend to all.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, “Curly” Ross; cousin, Jeret “Speedy” Peterson; cousin, Kim Hensley; uncle, Dale “Bud” Ross; grandmother, Jacqueline Collins; and aunt, Cara Collins.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You for the excellent care and compassion Drew was given at St. Alphonsus ICU and Southwest Advance Care Hospital; as well as the first responders at the accident site. We also want to thank all of Drew's visitors who took the time to come see him and support the family, it meant so much to him and us.
